As music lovers gear up for the much-anticipated Eurovision 2026 final this Saturday night, several people use the opportunity to turn the event into a shared night out, rather than staying home to watch TV.
In the UK, this has led to a surge in demand for communal watch-party venues, such as screening rooms, cinemas and live music venues. Enquiries for these locations jumped 73% on an annual basis in the run up to the final, according to Tagvenue, mainly led by London, Manchester and Birmingham.
However, this phenomena is becoming more common across continental Europe as well, with several key cities drawing thousands of viewers across bars, outdoor venues and public arenas for vibrant and energetic watch parties.
“Eurovision is becoming much more than a TV broadcast – it’s becoming a social event people want to experience together,” said Artur Stepaniak, CEO at Tagvenue.
He added: “We’re seeing growing demand for cinemas, screening rooms and live music venues as people organise large watch parties with friends. The data suggests audiences increasingly want a shared atmosphere for big cultural moments, and Eurovision is one of the biggest shared viewing events of the year.”
But where are the best places to watch the Eurovision final this year?
Vienna, Austria
Vienna obviously tops the list as the Eurovision 2026 host, with the largest, official public viewing area for the contest being the Eurovision Village (Rathausplatz).
Fans can enjoy an electric atmosphere full of anticipation, a wide range of food and plenty of live performances here.
Alternatively, head to Arena plus in St. Jakob-Park, another major public viewing event with pre-show live performances by an impressive line up of international artists.
Other venues such as the Naturhistorisches Museum and Kulturkirche Paulus also host specialised viewings.
Bergen, Norway
Bergen was a previous Eurovision host in 1986, with the love for the contest enduring until now. Around 844,000 people watched the contest from Norway in 2025, according to Eurovoix. Over the years, the country has consistently had one of the highest viewing numbers for the competition.
Bergen truly comes alive during Eurovision, with massive street parties and themed bar and restaurant nights.
Fans can head to the Irish pub Finnegan’s! on Saturday night for a huge watch party starting at 8pm, or go to the performing arts venue Cornerteateret for a special Eurovision edition of the improv music show “Hit Happens”, also starting at 8pm, for an audience-driven experience.
Apart from the watch parties, Bergen also boasts fantastic fjords, mountains and breathtaking scenery, along with historic architecture at the Bryggen Wharf.
London, UK
London is another fantastic watch party option, with a vast array of lively and often glitter-filled events, from dedicated nightclub extravaganzas to cozy pub gatherings and brewery screenings.
Fans can head to The Garden Vauxhall, a huge outdoor, but covered beer garden for a major screening with street food and drag hosts, or go to the Old Spitalfields Market and enjoy the spectacle on a simply enormous wide screen.
The Phoenix Arts Club offers a theatrical atmosphere, complete with a cabaret-style, high-octane viewing, while The Dial in Greenwich has a rooftop party with scenic city skyline views.
Malmӧ, Sweden
Malmӧ is another popular watch party destination, having already hosted the contest three times, in 1992, 2013 and 2024.
Eurovision is taken very seriously in Sweden, with the country also being the home of popular disco group and previous contest stars ABBA.
Fans can soak in a number of public viewing areas, citywide celebrations and associated events, all within a very small, walkable city, which means you can take in multiple events in a night.
Head to the Mezz Bar Eurovision 2026 Watch Party, within Freight Island, for a big-screen live viewing, DJs, amazing sound and live performers, starting at 6pm on Saturday.
Malmӧ Arena and the nearby Hyllie district also has a bustling atmosphere with lots of fan activity and gatherings, as does the historical Lilla Torg square, with plenty of cafes and bars for a blend of indoor and outdoor party atmosphere.
Porto, Portugal
Porto is another great place to watch the Eurovision Grand Final from, with a number of specialised, high-energy events scheduled for this year.
Head to the Look.Sharp Cafe, for a live screening, with a Grand Finale party, along with a “predict-the-winner” game. Tickets start from €10 for cocktail and standing only access to €25 for a “Headliner Feast”.
Fans can also go to the Fino Golf Club for a watch party with live music, signature cocktails, food and craft beer, starting at 7:30pm.
The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) also hosts a variety of Eurovision nights, with energetic vibes, more than 25 people and a social, highly international crowd.
