The satirical Razzie Awards shine a light on the worst movies of the year, announcing their nominations a day before the Oscars unveil theirs.

Love them or loathe them, the anti-Oscars are a tradition and each year, they remind us that for every good film that comes out, the cinematic scales must be balanced with terrible ones.

It’s hard making films and not everyone can do it – however, if the crème de la crème is celebrated, many feel like the duds must get a look-in, regardless of punching down. And while they can be taken in jest, the awards aren’t to be taken seriously. After all, this is the organisation who previously nominated Stanley Kubrick as Worst Director for The Shining, deemed that Ennio Morricone’s score for The Thing was rubbish, and had to apologise for nominating a 12-year-old performer, regardless of the mean-spirited nature of such a dubious appointment.

Safe to say that credibility isn’t the Razzies’ main register… But, loathe to say it, it’s hard to argue with their 2026 nominations.

Leading the noms this year with six nods is War Of The Worlds, starring Ice Cube, an Amazon-sponsored adaptation / devastation of H.G. Wells’ classic novel which can only be considered a cinematic crime against humanity. Certainly one mostly likely had the beloved author spinning in his grave like a demented pinwheel.

The film is tied with Snow White, which isn’t getting off the hook just yet.

The dire live-action adaptation of Disney’s Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs is up for six awards, including Worst Picture, Worst Remake, Worst Director and Worst Screen Combo (all seven dwarfs).

Elsewhere, War Of The Worlds and Snow White are up against five-time nominee Hurry Up Tomorrow, Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye’s much-maligned vanity project (for which The Weeknd is nominated for Worst Actor and Worst Screen Combo for The Weeknd & His Colossal Ego) and triple nominee The Electric State.

Other notable 2026 nominees include some Oscar winners: Jared Leto (Worst Actor for Tron: Ares), Natalie Portman (Worst Actress for Fountain of Youth), Michelle Yeoh (Worst Actress for Star Trek: Section 31), and Robert De Niro (Worst Screen Combo for Frank and Vito in The Alto Knights).

The 46th annual Razzies will be presented on Saturday 14 March, the day before the 2026 Oscars.
