What newlywed wouldn’t say their marriage was the best night of their lives? Well, American footballer Travis Kelce is certainly no exception after speaking out for the first time about his nuptials with pop star Taylor Swift.

The pair tied the knot at New York’s Madison Square Garden in early July in an extremely secretive ceremony and festivities over two days.

“I appreciate everybody who came out and celebrated and, you know, had fun with us,” the Kansas City Chiefs tight-end told a media briefing.

“That’s pretty much all I’m taking away from that night. It was a crazy night. It was full of a lot of celebration,” Kelce added.

We’ll have to take his word for it as only a statement by Swift’s spokeswoman confirmed the event had actually taken place. Oh, and there was also a message on the giant screens of the legendary concert hall and sports venue.

Mystery surrounds exact details of the ceremony as no pictures have officially been released but we do know that US comedian and actor Adam Sandler officiated and that the bride and groom were dress by Jonathan Anderson for Christian Dior, while Swift wore Christian Louboutin shoes.

Journalist George Stephanopoulos said it was “so personal and so intimate,” despite the venue’s cavernous size.

The head of the AMC cinema chain, Adam Aron, posted on X and then deleted a message describing the couple’s vows as “long, entertaining, personal, charming, emotional, irreverent and endearing.”

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani also revealed that the pair contributed $160,000 to the city to pay for the heavy police and security detail as thousands of people, including well-wishers and celebrities attended, forcing authorities to block off several nearby streets.
