Tributes have been paid to British singer Lauren Bennett, one of the stars of LMFAO’s 2011 hit Party Rock Anthem, following her death at the age of 37.

No cause of death has yet been reported.

In a statement released on Instagram, members of her former musicial group G.R.L said: “It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren.

“Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us. We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us,” the statement reads. “Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved.

“Rest peacefully, sweet Lauren. You will always be in our hearts. Your GRLS, Em, Tash, and P.”

Lauren’s bandmates were Natasha Slayton, Emmalyn Estrada, Paula van Oppen and Simone Battle who died by suicide in 2015.

The group’s most popular tune was ‘Ugly Heart’ and they also recorded ‘Wild Wild Love’ with Pitbull

The road to stardom

In 2007, Bennett took her first steps to fame as a member of The Paradiso Girls, a European spin-off of the US Pussycat Dolls, but the band fell apart three years later without making an impact on the charts.

But solo success soon followed as she guest starred on tracks of various artists and eventually she went global after mixing it up with electronic dance act LMFAO on Party Rock Anthem.

The song became a enormous worldwide hit shortly after its release and a decade ago, still ranked among one of YouTube’s most popular videos.

Lauren Bennett is survived by her husband, Kenny, and their six- year-old daughter Harlow.
