A quarter (25 percent) of those surveyed who backed the Labour Party in the 2024 general election said they will now back the Greens. A third (37 percent) said they would continue to support the governing party. The polling of 2,073 adults in Britain Sunday and Monday came just days after the Greens won the Greater Manchester constituency of Gorton and Denton from Labour. “The result is likely to have been driven to a significant extent by the publicity from the Denton & Gorton by-election,” said YouGov’s Anthony Wells. “That result may have had an impact in terms of making…

While diplomats scramble and the UN calls for restraint, certain defence contractors and energy majors have emerged as early market victors. As the conflict enters its fourth day, demand for advanced weaponry, missile-defence systems and intelligence platforms is projected to surge. Lockheed Martin’s stock, the world’s largest defence contractor by revenue, hit a new all-time high on Monday, closing at $676.70 after rising over…

Greece has already ordered the deployment of a military force to Cyprus following drone incursions on the Mediterranean island Monday that have, for the first time, dragged an EU member country into the U.S.-Israeli campaign against Iran, which has sparked massive regional retaliatory attacks from Tehran. Four of Greece’s F-16 fighter jets are already placed in Paphos, a coastal city in southwest Cyprus, while two frigates — one equipped with its anti-drone Centauros jamming system — are deployed to the island. A Shahed-type unmanned aerial vehicle hit Britain’s Royal Air Force base at Akrotiri in Cyprus in the early hours…

The legal action was submitted to the EU’s General Court in Luxembourg on 27 February, but it was announced on…

But this is not the moment to lecture Iranians with shallow analysis or ideologically tinged – and often dangerously ill-informed – commentary. Iranians are not naïve. They know perfectly well that US President Donald Trump is acting out…

“It’s a different world, actually. It’s just a much different kind of relationship that we’ve had with your country before,” he added in an interview with the Sun newspaper, conducted late Monday night and published Tuesday. Trump earlier told the Telegraph he was “very disappointed” by Starmer hindering the use of the joint Diego Garcia base in the Chagos Islands — prompting the British PM to hit back that it is his duty to “judge what is in Britain’s national interest.” In a further break with Trump, Starmer told MPs on Monday he does not believe in “regime change from the…
