While most of us get our travel inspiration from social media platforms and websites (like Euronews Travel) these days, there’s just something about having a physical book.

Rather than endlessly scrolling, you find yourself slowing down and gently flicking through the pages, truly absorbing what you’re reading and seeing.

It’s little wonder, then, that Assouline’s books have become must-haves for coffee tables the world over, particularly the travel series with its iconic brightly coloured covers.

Now travellers passing through Doha’s Hamad International Airport will get to see oversized versions of those eye-catching spines with the launch of the brand’s first travel series kiosk.

Located within the Orchard, the indoor garden area that opened in 2022 ahead of the World Cup, the stand is the first of its kind from the brand.

Those passing through the airport will be able to buy Assouline’s books, candles, totes and other gifts from the luxury publisher’s travel collection.

“With its remarkable façade and inspiring travel collections inside, the store is designed to spark a sense of adventure with our passengers, while offering them another world-first concept to discover on their journey through Hamad International Airport,” Thabet Musleh, Qatar Airways group chief retail and hospitality officer, said.

Other luxury brands at Hamad International Airport

Hamad International already has plenty of luxury brands on offer, having launched fashion avenue Viale Di Lusso where shoppers can browse brands including Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Jimmy Choo and Valentino back in 2021.

The airport is also home to Louis Vuitton Lounge by Yannick Alléno in Doha, an exclusive lounge only open to fashion house VIPs and platinum and gold members of Qatar Airways’ privilege club.

For those who haven’t quite reached gold status yet, you can grab a brew at Ralph’s Coffee, the coffee shop from Ralph Lauren, or have afternoon tea at Harrod’s Tea Room.
