Besides Biden, Zelenskyy plans to meet with U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, Congressional representatives from both parties, and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, Nykyforov added.
In addition, Zelenskyy will meet with representatives from American defense and energy companies and from the Ukrainian community, and will hold bilateral talks with national leaders and international organizations on the sidelines of the General Assembly.
The White House confirmed Biden will meet Zelenskyy Sept. 26 while Harris will meet with him separately, Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement on Thursday.
“The president and vice president will emphasize their unshakeable commitment to stand with Ukraine until it prevails in this war,” Jean-Pierre said.
Earlier in August, Zelenskyy announced his intention to present his victory plan to both presidential candidates as well as to Biden. Trump, who has previously refused to say if he wants Ukraine to win its war against Russia, said he will “probably” meet Zelenskyy next week.
Zelenkyy’s “victory plan” is 90 percent ready, the Ukraine president announced in a statement on Monday.
“The plan is getting real substance — military, political, diplomatic, and economic. Key people from each sector are involved. The necessary steps for Ukraine have already been clearly defined,” Zelenskyy said.
“The steps [are] designed to give us the strongest possible position to bring peace — a real, just peace. For each step, there is a clear list of what is needed and what will strengthen us. There is nothing impossible in this plan. Over 90% has already been written out.”
