Svyrydenko was appointed as prime minister in July 2025.

“I am grateful to Yulia for her clear, steady, and effective work as prime minister, for her years of productive service on Ukraine’s team,” Zelenskyy wrote, without providing details about Svyrydenko’s new position.

The president didn’t name a successor to Svyrydenko.

Zelenskyy will need the Ukrainian parliament to approve the prime minister’s resignation. This would then lead to the resignation of the entire Ukrainian government.

Zelenskyy said there would also be changes among the heads of law enforcement agencies.
