Fans packed the streets, waving Spanish flags and cheering as the players travelled from near Moncloa Palace to Cibeles Square after Sunday’s 1-0 victory over Argentina in the World Cup final.
Supporters lined the route hours before the team arrived. Many wore Spain shirts, while others held homemade signs, including a poster featuring a long-haired cat in tribute to defender Marc Cucurella. The players waved to the crowd from the bus as chants echoed through the capital.
