Supporters of Dutch parties reacted on Wednesday evening to the release of an exit poll published immediately after voting ended.

The poll indicated that the center-left D66 would emerge as the largest party, winning 27 seats, an increase of 18 compared with the 2023 election.

Geert Wilders’ Party for Freedom was projected to lose 12 seats, finishing with 25, according to national broadcaster NOS.

Pollster Ipsos said the survey was conducted at 65 polling stations and involved around 80,000 voters, using a methodology that has produced results very close to final outcomes in previous Dutch elections.
