A loyalist bonfire in Moygashel, Northern Ireland, features a replica mosque and signs with anti-immigration messages ahead of the annual Orange Order celebrations.

The footage shows the structure placed on top of the fire, alongside messages reading ‘Secure our borders’ and ‘End the threat of radical Islam’.

The installation has drawn criticism, as similar controversial symbols appeared at the same site in previous years.

Bonfires are traditionally lit across Northern Ireland ahead of Orange Order parades on 12 July, marking the anniversary of the 1690 Battle of the Boyne, when Protestant forces defeated the Catholic King James II.

The events remain an important part of loyalist culture but often spark debate over the political messages displayed at some sites.
