French President Emmanuel Macron visited the historic Umayyad Mosque in Damascus on 7 July alongside Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa.
The footage shows the two leaders walking through the mosque, exploring the site and signing the guestbook before shaking hands.
The visit was part of Macron’s first trip to Syria, where he also met members of Syrian civil society.
Macron’s arrival in Damascus marks the first visit by a Western leader since the fall of Bashar al-Assad in 2024.
