Five Indonesian prison officials, including the head of Cibinong Prison near Jakarta, have been suspended following the discovery of an alleged luxury compound for inmates.
Indonesia’s Ombudsman found more than 10 residential units equipped with air conditioning, large-screen TVs, refrigerators and sofas, as well as a gym and a golf simulator under construction.
Authorities are investigating how the facilities were used and whether inmates paid for preferential treatment.
