Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, US President Donald Trump and other NATO leaders arrived in Ankara on 7 July for a state dinner hosted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The leaders gathered in Turkey for a two-day NATO summit focused on defence spending, security and the alliance’s future. The summit takes place as European members seek to address concerns over their military commitments and maintain unity with Washington.
Trump met Erdogan during the Ankara gathering and reiterated his position on several foreign policy issues, including his call for US control over Greenland. Leaders also discussed arms deals and relations between NATO members.
