Two days after a deadly vehicle and machete attack near the site of a Berlin Pride event, people gathered at Tiergarten park to pay tribute to the victims.
Candles, flowers and messages were placed near the tree where the attacker’s vehicle crashed, forming a makeshift memorial in the German capital.
The footage shows Berliners laying flowers, lighting candles and leaving messages including “You are not alone” and “Don’t let them divide us”. Rainbow flags and Pride symbols were also placed among the tributes.
The attack took place when a rented minivan was driven into a crowd before the attacker used a machete. A 65-year-old Polish woman was killed and 29 others were injured.
