Images of the armed attack carried out outside a high school in the Turgutlu district of Manisa have been released. In the security camera footage, the suspect, dressed in black and carrying a weapon resembling a shotgun, can be seen walking along the street.
Eight people were injured in the attack, and the suspect was detained by security forces shortly afterwards.
Although armed assaults near schools are relatively rare in Turkey, a recent series of similar incidents in quick succession is causing growing concern among the public.
