The Trump team has been ripped online for a ‘cringe’ video that uses a song from Harris-endorser Taylor Swift, who Trump has stated he hates.

“All you are is mean, and a liar, and pathetic and alone in life…”

You almost feel bad about some of the idiots Taylor Swift writes about. Almost. And this diss lyric from her song ‘Mean’ could be applicable to Donald Trump and his campaign team, who have rather pathetically posted a video on Instagram featuring a song from Swift.

The pop superstar has not only endorsed his political rival Kamala Harris, but has previously caused Trump to rage tweet “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT”.

The clip, captioned “Women for Trump!” and which sees “Team Trump” led by the former president’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump lip-syncing to Swift’s song ‘22’, has been ripped to shreds on social media and labelled as “cringe”.

The video begins with the group miming the lyrics “I don’t know about you, but I’m…” before the song is interrupted with the phrase, “voting Donald Trump, baby!”

Many are calling for Swift to sue…

Swift endorsed Harris for president after her debate against Trump last month, and used her statement to comment on the viral AI-generated image of her fake endorsement of Trump – which the former president himself shared.

“Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site,” Swift wrote. “It really conjured up my fears around AI and the dangers of spreading misinformation.”

“It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter,” she added. “The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”

Trump recently delivered a catastrophically strange performance earlier this week in Pennsylvania, during which the presidential nominee stopped answering political questions and instead hosted a 30-minute listening party, during which he ‘danced’ along to music by artists who have already threatened Trump with legal action.

Rufus Wainwright condemned the use of his music by Trump, stating that his version of Leonard Cohen’s song ‘Hallelujah’ was “an anthem dedicated to peace, love and acceptance of the truth” and that he was “mortified”.

Trump is notorious for using music at his campaign rallies without the artists’ permission. Everyone from Tom Petty, Neil Young, The Rolling Stones via Adele, Bruce Springsteen and The White Stripes has issued the politician with cease-and-desist orders.

Isaac Hayes’ estate sued him for 134 counts of copywright infringement, and in August, both French artist Woodkid and Canadian national treasure Céline Dion called out the unauthorized uses of their songs at Trump’s rallies.

One of the most recent cases has been Beyoncé reportedly threatening Donald Trump’s campaign with legal action for its unauthorized use of her song ‘Freedom’ in a social media video, days after the singer approved the song as the official anthem for Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign.
