Planning on walking the Camino de Santiago during 2027’s Holy Year? We have good news, as those finishing up their pilgrimage will soon have a more affordable way home with the launch of a new budget airline.

Fly2Galicia is set to launch flights from Santiago–Rosalía de Castro Airport to eight destinations in Europe, with the first departures set for 1 December, 2026.

Domestically, the carrier will fly from Alicante, Grenada and Zaragoza, while international connections include Brussels, Prague, Munich, Venice and Milan.

Tickets went on sale today, with prices from Milan to Santiago from €41; from Brussels, Prague or Venice from €51; and from Munich starting from €71.

It should be noted that Fly2Galicia won’t actually operate these initial flights, which will instead be run by another European operator which has yet to be named.

The news comes after Wizz Air announced it would be launching flights to Santiago from Rome and Warsaw this December.

The carrier will launch a permanent base at the airport in February, which will also see the launch of domestic routes to Malaga, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Zaragoza.

What to do in Santiago de Compostela

Wander around Santiago de Compostela’s UNESCO-listed Old Town to discover why it has been described as “one of the world’s most beautiful urban areas”, with architectural styles ranging from Romanesque and Gothic to Baroque and Neoclassicist.

Grab fresh seafood and produce from Mercado de Abastos food market, best washed down with a glass of Albariño, the white wine Galicia is known for.

Outside of the region’s capital, you can visit other cities like A Coruña and Vigo, or head to the Rías Baixas, which is known for its beaches and islands.
