The tallest hotel in the world has officially opened its doors to guests.

Ciel Dubai Marina, the latest addition to the Vignette Collection by IHG, joins the ranks of skyscaping megastructures in the UAE capital.

The hotel is 377 metres tall, with 82 floors and 1,004 rooms and suites. Here’s a peek inside the record-breaking property.

World’s tallest hotel opens in Dubai

Dubai is in the grip of a tourism boom. The city welcomed 18.7 million international tourists last year, up 9 per cent from 2023, and is increasingly looking to lure wealthy visitors.

Foreign investment in tourism topped $2 billion (€1.7 billion) in 2024, and the Ciel Dubai Marina is emblematic of the maximalist character of this surge.

“We are delighted to welcome guests to Ciel Dubai Marina, Vignette Collection, a visionary landmark that redefines innovation, luxury, and creativity at every level,” said Heinrich Morio, managing director of the hotel.

“This extraordinary hotel reflects Dubai’s status as a global destination for tourism and business, offering an experience that is as elevated as it is unforgettable.”

The needle-shaped structure was designed by NORR Group architects, and everything revolves around height.

All the rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows to take advantage of the panoramic vistas of Palm Jumeirah, the Dubai skyline and the Arabian Gulf.

There is an ocean-facing outdoor infinity pool at level 76 – one of the highest in the world – and the top of the tower features an observation deck with lofty views to the horizon.

The architects say Ciel’s design addresses “many complex challenges, including resource efficiency and sustainability.”

“Ciel is ambitious, featuring vertically stacked enclosed gardens throughout the height of the tower,” the architectural firm writes on its website.

“Early in the design effort, computational fluid dynamic analysis and wind tunnel modelling had a dramatic impact on the structure and shape of the tower.”

8 restaurants and a 24-hour gym

The hotel’s facilities are as extravagant as the design.

There are eight dining venues. West 13 serves up the Mediterranean experience, with handmade pasta, gyros, tacos, mezze and artisanal bakery creations.

East 14 takes guests on an Asian buffet adventure of live ramen, pho, sushi, dim sum and curries. Risen Café and Artisanal Bakery serves breakfast, lunch and an all-day menu of freshly baked pastries and speciality coffee.

The most dramatic offering is Tattu, an award-winning, UK-born modern Asian concept. The hotel has three outlets: Tattu Restaurant & Bar, Tattu Sky Pool and Tattu Sky Lounge.

The experience begins on level 74, where the restaurant welcomes guests into a world of “ancient mythology, modern mastery and contemporary Chinese and Japanese cuisine”.

On level 76 is the Tattu Sky Pool, 310 metres up, with plush daybeds, Japanese-fusion bites and an energy that evolves from daytime relaxation to sunset DJ sets.

The crescendo of the Tattu Dubai experience is on level 81, where the Sky Lounge & Terrace combines music, cocktails and 360-degree views.

There is a 24-hour state-of-the-art gym with skyline views. Back at ground level, guests can enjoy access to Soluna Beach Club on Palm Jumeirah. In February 2026, the spa will open on level 61.
