Russia strikes 15 sites overnight as Friday’s attack on Odesa death toll rises to eight

The death toll following a Russia’s Friday attack on the southern port city of Odesa has risen to eight, 27 others were wounded, according to Ukraine’s Emergency Service said Saturday morning.

As a total of 51 drones and three Iskander-M ballistic missiles were launched across Ukraine in overnight attacks by Russia.

Some of the wounded in Odesa were on a bus during the attack, according to officials. as Trucks reportedly caught fire and cars were damaged.

Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa region said the port was struck with ballistic missiles.

Ukraine’s Armed Forces reported that out of the 51 drones about 30 of them were of Shahed type and 31 of the drones were either shot down or jammed, leaving 20 strikes recorded at 15 locations.

Ukraine strikes oil and gas productions

On the other hand, Ukraine’s Armed Forces struck the Russian warship “Okhotnik,” which was patrolling in the Caspian Sea near an oil and gas production, and other facilities in drone attacks, on Friday, its General Staff said in a statement on Telegram on Saturday.

A drilling platform at the Filanovsky oil and gas field in the Caspian Sea, operated by Russian oil giant Lukoil, was struck. Ukrainian drones also targeted a radar and system two Russian Su-27 jets located at the Belbek military airfield, Crimea, territory Russia illegally annexed from Ukraine in 2014.
