The MAGA-branded line of guitars was launched as “the only guitar officially endorsed by President Donald J. Trump.” Gibson says it infringes on its trademarks.

The incoming 47th American President has endorsed a series of Les Paul-style guitars – yet another addition to his expending line of merchandise – with signed editions priced at upwards of $10,000.

Its electric model is being pitched as “the only guitar officially endorsed by President Donald J. Trump” and the site lists an “American Eagle Series” inlaid with Trump’s campaign slogan “Make America Great Again” up the neck of the instrument.

Now, according to Guitar World, guitar brand Gibson has sent a warning to Trump Guitars owner 16 Creative for its alleged design infringements.

The cease-and-desist notice was sent for “infringing upon Gibson’s exclusive trademarks, particularly the iconic Les Paul body shape.”

Trump Guitar’s website also mentions that the instruments are “custom designed and developed by a veteran-owned company with the help of a master luthier.”

However, as Guitar World highlights, the FAQ section reveals that the guitars are produced by “multiple providers” located both domestically and internationally.
