“Don’t f*ck with the Chuck!”

Controversial rapper Nicki Minaj has been outspoken in her support for Donald Trump and the MAGA movement, and was seen joining Trump on stage in the build-up to the mo midterm elections.

We now know how that went down, as the midterms were a heavy rebuke of Trump, with the “blue wave” predicted by American pollsters materialising, as the Democrats took back both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Prior to the blow, Minaj continued to drum up support for Trump and used a seemingly AI-generated image of Chucky to endorse the Republican Party on election day.

The killer doll, made famous by the cult horror film Child’s Play (1988), was created by writer Don Mancini. The character has gone on to become the main antagonist in the Chucky franchise – which includes eight feature films and a TV series.

Prior to her lyrical and reputational downfall, Minaj had previously rapped about Chucky in her guest verse on Kanye West’s 2010 song ‘Monster’: “Bride of Chucky is child’s play / Just killed another career, it’s a mild day.”

Minaj’s image had the iconic character wearing a pink suit and a pin that said: “Vote red.”

This did not sit well with Mancini, who has spoken out and slammed Minaj for the use of his creation.

“IMPOSTER…CHUCKY IS PART OF THE BLUE WAVE THAT WILL WASH AWAY ALL THE CORRUPTION,” he wrote on X, following it with a separate post, in which he said: “Chucky has a trans kid. Chucky protects the dolls. Chucky is anti-ICE. Chucky says ‘A BLUE WAVE’ is coming, as BLUE as my fuckin’ eyes!’”

Indeed, Chucky says in the series: “I have a queer kid” – referring to Glen/Glenda, a character that debuted in the 2004 movie Seed of Chucky.

Mancini also posted a photo of a Chucky doll with blue hair and wrote: “Too bad, Nicki! No AI, by the way!”

Minaj, who has previously described herself as “probably the president’s number one fan”, has not commented on Mancini’s posts. She did however post the following after the Democrats’ massive win in the midterms:

As for Trump, he has distanced himself from this week’s losses, claiming that his party would have won if his name was on the ballot.

He wrote on Truth Social: “I wasn’t on the ballot, and if I was, we would have won IN A LANDSLIDE.”
