The model slipped a pair of black semi-sheer tights over black briefs, added a white long-sleeved top and navy jumper on her top half, stepped into pointed court shoes . . . and went about her day. Without. Anything. Else. No trousers or skirts in sight.
Jenner posted the polarising look on her Instagram on 23 Nov., opening a carousel of photos showing some of her latest musings, including a horse riding video, a grazing board, and a snap of her 818 Tequila brand. The top-to-toe look, which was seen on the Bottega Veneta spring / summer ’23 runway with Calzedonia tights, was not only worn inside for lounging around, either. Despite temperatures dropping and winter being a time for additional layers, Jenner threw the style rulebook out of the window and headed out in LA to run errands in just her tights and knickers.
While the no-trouser trend made waves during fashion month with the likes of Victoria Beckham and Coperni sending ‘fits ending at underwear down the catwalk, the divisive looks split opinion. Yet Jenner expertly makes a case for tights as trousers, and we see it. Sure, it helps to have model limbs, but it’s a trend that could have staying power, particularly come party season.
The reality star posted the standout look a day after her second split with basketball player Devin Booker was confirmed, with People reporting that the latest split was due to their “incredibly busy schedules.” As far as post-breakup outfits go, Jenner’s trouser-less look is leg-endary.
