Europe is a “decaying” group of nations led by “weak” people were some of the words used by US President Donald Trump yesterday. Speaking to the European Parliament, Europe’s foreign chief Kaja Kallas responded by downplaying the slurs, refusing to get into a “word-fight”. European Council president António Costa, on the other hand, asked the US President to “show respect”. For more on this, we will be joined in the studio by Euronews EU editor Maria Tadeo.

Coming up, we will be joined by the US ambassador to the EU Andrew Puzder, a former business executive and well known media commentator who was appointed ambassador in 2025, making him the eyes and ears of US President Donald Trump in Brussels.

Meanwhile, Tesla and X owner Elon Musk is still furious about his social media platform being fined €120 million by Brussels last Friday for failing to meet transparency rules. Musk has said he could refuse to pay, though the EU Commission has said it will make sure it gets the money. Our reporter Jakub Janas has been trying to get inside the head of the richest man in the world.

As you have been hearing a lot in Euronews’ coverage lately, Europe is grappling with how to finance Ukraine in the long term. Meanwhile, NATO countries are already working with private technology companies on how best to resolve the struggles on the frontline by using drones instead of manpower. Our correspondent Shona Murray is in Riihimäki in Finland, where NATO has been carrying out such collaborations.
