On today’s show:

Méabh Mc Mahon speaks to the EU’s ambassador to Ukraine, Katarina Mathernova, following a trip to Ukraine by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, during which Russian drones and missiles struck the capital, causing severe damage to Kyiv’s Northern Bridge.

Aadel Haleem reports from Doha on the latest developments in the Iran war, after Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister said Washington has replied to Tehran’s proposal to end the conflict and that the response is now under internal review.

Charles Michel, the former European Council president, joins the show to analyse the Iran war as he calls on European leaders to change how they are dealing with it.

Maia de la Baume reports on the scandal engulfing Jordan Bardella, after the young leader of the French far-right National Rally denied writing antisemitic messages in 2013, following an investigation by the left-leaning outlet Mediapart which alleged that he had.

João Albuquerque, Portuguese political analyst and former MEP, shares his take on the first round of Brazil’s presidential election, in which the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro, who is behind bars, has won the most votes, beating the incumbent left-wing president, Lula da Silva.
