Speaking from Berlin, NATO secretary general Mark Rutte has made a stark announcement to Europeans that Russia could attack in the next five years. A number of Western intelligence agencies have said the same, while Moscow has called it hysteria.

Meanwhile, the US has said Ukraine should pull its troops out of Donbas so that Washington could set up a free economic zone in these regions. For the latest our Ukraine Sasha Vakulina fills us in.

Then, President of the European Investment Bank Nadia Calviño joins us live from the European Council to discuss the new Eurogroup’s presidency, Trump’s comments on Europe’s decline, and the EU’s economy.

We will also take you to Bulgaria, where the government has resigned following mass anti-corruption protests. These events come only weeks before Bulgaria joins the eurozone on 1 January.

Lastly our reporter Jakub Janas explains why next week is crunch time for the Mercosur deal and why Brussels is sweating over a deadline that hat has been 25 years in the making.
