After 16 hours of talks, an EU summit in Brussels has come to a dramatic end. The big takeaways: a €‎90 billion cheque for Ukraine raised with joint debt, but not with Russian money. And a postponement of the EU-Mercosur trade deal. For more on the twists and turns of the night and the winners and losers, our EU news editor Maria Tadeo joins the studio.

Ukraine President Zelenskyy was physically in Brussels for the summit too, warning EU leaders that there are much greater threats than lawsuits. He also spent hours locked in talks with the Belgian Prime Minister Bart de Wever. For more on President Zelenksyy reaction to the outcome of the summit, our Ukraine correspondent Sasha Vakulina fills us in.

We also look at another huge headline from this long EU summit in Brussels: Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni asked for a delay of the signature of the EU-Mercosur trade deal… and she got it. It’s a big win for farmers who were protesting all day around Brussels. Europe Today’s Aida Sanchez went to have a chat with them.

Lastly, we go straight over to the EU Council to bring in Euronews correspondent Shona Murray, who will report on what looks like a big failure for Brussels: the delay to the EU-Mercosur deal.
