Russian heavy overnight bombing over Ukraine has left at least four people killed in the past 24 hours, and 19 injured after Moscow launched nearly 100 drones and one missile, according to Ukraine’s Air Force.

Out of the 97 drones launched, 75 of them were either shot down or jammed, meanwhile 19 drones hit eight locations.

In the north-eastern Kharkiv region town of Izium, Ukrainian rescue services recovered the bodies of two people from the rubble after their building collapsed on Saturday.

Regional Governor Oleh Syniehubov also said two people had been injured and many homes across the region, as well as a residential building, had been damaged.

Another person was killed and four people were injured in the eastern region of Donetsk, authorities reported.

Meanwhile, in the region of Kherson, seven people were injured as a result of Russian attacks, including private homes, four multi-storey buildings, an administrative building, and a gas pipeline.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on a post on social media X, Russia has launched about 1,300 attack drones, nearly 1,200 guided aerial bombs and nine missiles in the past week alone.

The region of Odesa was reportedly particularly badly hit, with its port, transport and industrial facilities being targeted, according to Oleh Kiper, Head of Odesa Oblast Military Administration.

Russia said on Saturday that its forces had taken control of two more settlements in the Sumy and Donetsk regions. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, troops captured Vysoke in the Sumy region and Svitle in the Donetsk region over the past 24 hours. The ministry also said it struck facilities used to transport Western weapons, as well as ammunition depots, fuel sites and locations of Ukrainian troops and foreign fighters.
