After Eichwald’s speech, AfD members questioned whether his contribution was meant seriously. One member asked him whether he was an informant for Germany’s domestic intelligence service.
Eichwald replied: “This question probably results from my rolling ‘R.’ I am a Russia German and was taught to speak this way.”
