As the hospitality world counts down the days to see which properties make the cut for The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2026 list, an extended ranking has revealed the hotels in 51st to 100th place.

Unveiled by 50 Best, the 51-100 list features hotels from 23 different territories and 40 cities, with 16 properties in Europe, including nine in Italy.

Determined by the votes of more than 800 anonymous experts, The World’s 50 Best Hotels ranking for 2026 will be unveiled in Paris on 15 September.

Asia leads the way, followed by Europe

In the 51-100 rundown, Asia tops the list with 20 hotels ranked. Japan alone has seven properties in the ranking, with Janu Tokyo at No.52, while other new entries in the capital include Park Hyatt Tokyo (No.53), The Okura (No.69) and Palace Hotel Tokyo (No.73).

Represented by 16 hotels, Europe’s entries on the extended list span both “newly opened properties and long-established favourites”, 50 Best said.

La Réserve Paris re-enters and tops the extended list at No.51, while France is home to three other properties, including new entries Ritz Paris at No.72 and Carlton Cannes (No.80).

The Maybourne Riviera, in Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, has also re-entered the list at No.93.

Of the European countries, Italy has the highest number of hotels included, with nine.

Il San Pietro di Positano (No.58) is Italy’s highest new entry, while Castiglion del Bosco in Montalcino (No.62), Orient Express La Minerva in Rome (No.66), Forestis Dolomites (No.68) in Brixen, and Villa Treville in Positano (No.91) all enter the list for the first time.

Splendido in Portofino comes in at No.60, followed by Borgo Santandrea in Amalfi at No.84 and Borgo Egnazia in Savelletri at No.88. Reschio in Lisciano Niccone was ranked at No.95.

Elsewhere in Europe, the UK has two hotels on the list: new entry Rosewood London (No.56) and Gleneagles (No.100) in Auchterarder, Scotland. In Türkiye, independently-owned Maçakızı in Bodrum was at No.76.

Meanwhile, North America had a total of nine hotels on the 51-100 ranking, while South America and Oceania had two each, and Africa one.
