Qatar said its armed forces have intercepted successive waves of Iranian missiles and drones targeting the country on the second day of escalation following US strikes on Iran. Meanwhile, a minor fire in Doha caused by falling debris was quickly contained.

The Ministry of Interior said Civil Defence teams dealt with a small blaze in the Industrial Area after shrapnel fell from a missile interception, adding that the fire did not result in any injuries.

In a joint briefing, the ministries of defence, interior and foreign affairs said Qatari forces intercepted a large number of missile waves and several drones launched from Iran.

“Two missiles hit Al Udeid Air Base, and a drone targeted an early warning radar system with no casualties,” officials said. “Security and defence systems are operating normally.”

The foreign ministry described the attack as a flagrant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and said the state reserves the right to respond.

It added that repeated strikes against Qatari territory undermine the principles of good neighbourly relations.

Authorities urged residents to stay vigilant, follow official safety instructions and rely on verified information.

They reminded the public that photographing or sharing images of attack sites could have legal consequences.

Separately, the civil aviation authority said Qatari airspace had been temporarily closed as a precaution and would reopen once conditions allowed.
