The European Council meeting is here. EU leaders are in Brussels this Thursday and Friday for what is being dubbed ‘a make or break’ summit. From saving face on Ukraine, to stopping the Mercosur trade deal from falling off a cliff, big decisions on key issues will have to be made.

For more on why this December gathering is so crucial, we cross straight over to the EU Council building where Euronews’ correspondent Shona Murray fills us in.

Then, we turn to Ukraine. The stakes could not be higher for Ukraine’s President Zelenkyy, who is under brutal pressure of late to concede territory to Russia. For more on President Zelensky’s attendance for the summit, we are joined in the studio by our Ukraine correspondent Sasha Vakulina.

And then, after a busy trip to Strasbourg, our EU news editor Maria Tadeo is back in Brussels and has joins the EPP pre summit huddle, which is taking place in the Sofitel hotel in the EU quarter. Live for Europe Today, she will be interviewing Prime Minister of Luxembourg Luc Frieden.

Lastly, we look at summit from a different perspective: logistics. They are quite something, and our Jakub Janas has been tasked with explaining everything that happens behind the scenes.
