A historic neoclassical building in Paphos, Cyprus, suffered severe damage from a fire on Tuesday.
The fire broke out in a restaurant on the ground floor and spread rapidly, destroying the wooden roof and causing extensive damage.
The iconic building, with its ancient Greek columns, is located in the heart of the coastal town, in an area considered to be one of the most remarkable architectural complexes in Cyprus.
Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading any further. The restoration is expected to take three to four months.
