Our Habitas has just opened its fourth resort in the Middle East, marking its debut in the UAE with the launch of Caravan Hatta.

The property in the Hajar Mountains, which is located around an hour-and-a-half’s drive from Dubai International Airport, has 50 bespoke Airstream Caravans which offer views of either the valleyscape or Hatta Dam.

Each caravan comes with a private wooden deck for making the most of the mountain views, but there is also an observatory deck for those who want to stargaze sans light pollution come nightfall.

The resort is also home to a spectacular infinity pool.

“Hatta is a destination with a character and rhythm entirely its own,” Yasmin Huneidi, general manager of Caravan Hatta by Our Habitas, said.

“With Caravan Hatta, we want to build on that distinctive spirit and position the destination as a place to reconnect, unwind and explore a different side of the UAE.

“We are excited to bring people together through experiences shaped by the Hajar Mountains, creating opportunities to embrace the outdoors, share memorable moments and form genuine connections.”

What to expect at Caravan Hatta

Experiences offered at Caravan Hatta by Our Habitas are inspired by its location, with activities including sound healing sessions, Arabic coffee rituals and guided practices.

Those who want to venture beyond the resort’s doors can explore the biking and hiking trails, or go kayaking and paddleboarding on the dam.

As you might expect from a retreat out in nature, relaxation is a key part of the offering, with Thuraya Wellness space featuring a barrel sauna, outdoor cold plunge and hot tub as well as yoga and meditation sessions.

On the food front, guests can dine at Madar, which is Arabic for “orbit”. The menu here is Emirati influenced, with dishes prepared using open-fire and underground cooking techniques. For a more relaxed option, you can also dine poolside.

Our Habitas’ other properties include two in Saudi Arabia’s AlUla (one of which also features Airstream Caravans), and one in Qatar’s Ras Abrouq.
