It’s the final day of the Lima Judo Grand Prix.

In the -90kg category, Rafael MACEDO faced Mihail LATISEV. MACEDO earned his third Grand Prix gold medal here in Lima with a lovely waza-ari transitioning straight into an osaekomi. Waza-ari-awasete-ippon.

International Judo Federation Medical Commission Member Dr Zsolt SZÖVÉRFI awarded the medals.

At -78kg, Mathilda Sophie NIEMEYER faced Fanny Estelle POSVITE. NIEMEYER threw the more experienced POSVITE and cleanly transitioned into a hold down – winning her first World Judo Tour gold medal with a waza-ari and a yuko on the scoreboard.

International Judo Federation Sport Commission Member Ms Yuri ALVEAR awarded the medals.

At -100kg, it was an all Italian affair with Gennaro PIRELLI and Daniele ACCOGLI facing off for the top spot which ultimately went to PIRELLI after a tactical contest.

International Judo Federation Executive Committee Member Mrs Louisa AGIUS GALEA awarded the medals.

In the +78kg category, Olympic Champion Beatriz SOUZA faced Asya TAVANO. SOUZA claimed another gold on the World Judo Tour, holding her way to the top of the podium.

International Judo Federation Head Sport Director Mr Vladimir BARTA awarded the medals.

At +100kg, Giannis ANTONIOU shook the arena with a huge counter attack. Ippon and his and Cyprus’s first Grand Prix gold!

International Judo Federation Vice President Mr Carlos ZEGARRA awarded the medals.

A proud moment for Peruvian judo was the brilliant bronze medal on the opening day.

A fantastic finish to three days of world-class judo.
